Easy Calzones

This one was a hit with the family! Easy to make and SO delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can of pizza dough (we used Great Value from Walmart because it was cheap!)

  • 2 TBS butter or margarine, melted

  • Mild Ground Italian Sausage

  • Pepperoni

  • 1/2 cup of Ricotta Cheese

  • 1 cup of Mozzarella Cheese

  • Parmesan Cheese and Italian Seasoning, for garnish

  • Additional filling suggestions: Sauteed onions, bell peppers, salami

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and coat with nonstick spray.

  2. Pop open your cans of pizza dough and roll out flat. Cut in half, diagonally.

  3. Fill each half with the ingredients of your choice.

  4. Gently fold the dough around the filling, making sure to cover it as best you can to avoid any leaking out while it bakes. (You may have some ingredients left over because you don't want to fill them too full.)

  5. Place in oven preheated to and bake for approximately 10 minutes.

  6. Remove calzones when lightly browned, then brush the tops with butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning on top.

  7. This tastes delicious when served with a ramekin of marinara to dip in!

We cut ours into 4 slices with a pizza cutter for easy dipping. This is such a quick and easy meal that can easily be customized to your (or your kids) tastes!
